Camp Hill School

Following the construction of a new housing estate the county council asked Sportsdrainage to extend a school playing field in the opposite direction. Before we started work the area was waste land and sloped heavily making it very unsuitable for a school playing field.

The first task was to cut and fill the area in order to construct a level playing field, this was done with laser guided machinery. Next, land drains were laid at 5m centres, with a permeable fill. Once drained the pitches were graded, stone picked to create a seed bed. Before long the grass was growing.
